Course Objectives

Upon completion of this optional Career Course, learners will be able to:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of different career options through the exploration of resources and reflections, with no mandatory number of paths to explore (option for undecided students or those changing majors).

2. Create a tailored and targeted portfolio, highlighting their strengths, values, interests, and skills to guide their career exploration, including a values exercise and Odyssey Plan.

3. Create a resume, elevator pitch, and networking plan, and engage in a mock interview to showcase their skills.

4. Participate in at least one networking event and connect with industry professionals on a social platform.

5. Present a personalized career action plan, outlining short-term and long-term goals, steps to achieve those goals, and reflecting on the impact of the course on their career planning.

Prerequisites: Enrolled in courses at D'Youville University
